IE7 finally released
October 24th, 2006 by ashish
Well, I had been having my own problems with IE7. It would crash, and for some reason, I am not getting the ‘Open in New Tab’ option on Right-click (workaround being that I have to press Ctr when opening a link to open in a new tab). I wrote about this in earlier posts, and have done a fair amount of Googling to figure out a solution, but no solution.
Now MS has released the final version of IE7, so I thought to try it out. Lo and behold, I no longer get the crash so often (in fact just once in the last few days, so definitely a major improvement); but my opening in a new tab does not seem to work. I read somewhere about this being maybe something to do with a specific version of Google Toolbar, so I tried upgrading to the suggested version, but no dice. It still does not work. The only other option will be a re-format and install, but that takes a lot of effort in terms of re-installing all the apps, so something to be avoided.
I think that I will stick to my current browser usage, using Firefox and Crazy Browser, until the time that the laptop becomes generally bloated enough that it makes sense to do a clean sweep. Of course, if anyone has seen this problem, and can suggest a solution, it would be greatly welcomed.
