Saddam Hussein executed

Amidst controversy, Saddam Hussein was executed today morning Iraq time. He was hanged for the massacre of 148 men and boys belonging to a village where an assasination attempt against him was tried out.
Of course, he could have been sentenced for numerous other crimes that he committed, such as the deliberate and brutal supression of the Shias and Kurds using weapons of mass destruction. His security forced brutally kept large sections of his countrymen under control through torture and murder. The usage of the death penalty is always under dispute, but if there was a person who deserved the death penalty, then it was Saddam Hussein.
