Problems regarding banking or credit card ? Bank charging high rates, or delaying services, or any other problem ? Well, India has a banking ombudsmen who can help in resolving your complaints. And when do you go to a banking ombudsmen ? After you have tried to resolve your complaint with the bank, and after one month the bank has either not got back to you or you are not satisfied with the reply.

Which are the complaints for which you go to banking ombudsmen? The Banking Ombudsman can receive and consider any complaint relating to the following deficiency in banking services:
* non-payment or inordinate delay in the payment or collection of cheques, drafts, bills, etc.;
* non-acceptance, without sufficient cause, of small denomination notes tendered for any purpose, and for charging of commission for this service;
* non-acceptance, without sufficient cause, of coins tendered and for charging of commission for this service;
* non-payment or delay in payment of inward remittances ;
* failure to issue or delay in issue, of drafts, pay orders or bankers’ cheques;
* non-adherence to prescribed working hours;
* failure to honour guarantee or letter of credit commitments ;
* failure to provide or delay in providing a banking facility (other than loans and advances) promised in writing by a bank or its direct selling agents;
* delays, non-credit of proceeds to parties’ accounts, non-payment of deposit or non-observance of the Reserve Bank directives, if any, applicable to rate of interest on deposits in any savings, current or other account maintained with a bank ;
* delays in receipt of export proceeds, handling of export bills, collection of bills etc., for exporters provided the said complaints pertain to the bank’s operations in India;
* refusal to open deposit accounts without any valid reason for refusal;
* levying of charges without adequate prior notice to the customer;
* non-adherence by the bank or its subsidiaries to the instructions of Reserve Bank on ATM/debit card operations or credit card operations;
* non-disbursement or delay in disbursement of pension to the extent the grievance can be attributed to the action on the part of the bank concerned, (but not with regard to its employees);
* refusal to accept or delay in accepting payment towards taxes, as required by Reserve Bank/Government;
* refusal to issue or delay in issuing, or failure to service or delay in servicing or redemption of Government securities;
* forced closure of deposit accounts without due notice or without sufficient reason;
* refusal to close or delay in closing the accounts;
* non-adherence to the fair practices code as adopted by the bank; and
* any other matter relating to the violation of the directives issued by the Reserve Bank in relation to banking or other services.

hdfc bank anakapalle near visakhapatnam refuses to open an ordinary savings account unless a product like insurance etc is purchased. in this issue i want to make a compalint.

I have a saving account No: 10261251894 in State Bank of India, Nehruji Nagar Branch, Dindigul, Dindigul District.
I have deposited a cheque on 08/09/2008 for Rs.24,232/- bearing No:473603 dated 08/09/2008 drawn on Indian Bank at Palani. Still this time, I have not received the realized amount in my account.
I have sent a complaint letter dt.27-09-08 to the branch Manager of Dindigul Nehruji Nagar branch of SBI. But still rest amount is not credited to my account.
In this I met the manager of the concerned branch.But it is also of no use. Now I am hear to take action against it. I need amount urgent. I request you to take necessary action in this matter as early as possible.

Sir,
My Name is D.Srinivas. M.Sc.LL.BL.LB and
I am a sbi credit card holder upto 11/2007.
card number is 4317 5755 0499 5854 : credit limit Rs. 20,000/-
after that the card date expired. i have not received a new card.
SBI credit card sent a statement in month of december stating that i have to pay out standing amount of Rs.33,056/-
(including encash balance of Rs. 19, 250/-)
In the statement they have added annual fee charged and add on card fee which i have never used till today
after wards i always receive phone calls only from sbi credit card Cheenai centre reagrding payment
i told them that my card is expired and i have not received new card and also that imy addrerss is changed and informed my changed address to the collection executive and telecalers But in Vain: but they have not listened me and insisted on payment
rather helping me. then i made the follwing payemnts to SBI Credit card
1. 4100-00 (vide SBH cheque No. 423768 dt: 19-12-07)
2. 3000-00 (vide SBH cheque No. 423769 dt: 23-12-07)
3. 2500-00 (vide SBH cheque No. 4237 dt: -02-08)
4. 2500-00 (vide SBH cheque No. 423774 dt: 20-03-08)
5. 1900-00 cash payed to executive SBI credit card
6. 1980-00 vide SBH cheque No. dt: -04-08)
7. 2040-00 vide SBH cheque No. 751724 dt: 21-08-08)
8. 2100-00 vide SBH cheque No. 751727 dt: -09 - 08)
The total payments acumulate to Rs. 20,120/-
Till today i have not used the SBI card from November 2007 onwards
But SBI people are calling me more or less every day from last 2 months and harrasing me for the payment
There fore my contention is
Without sending the statements from Jan 2008 onwards : and asking for the payement is it fair ?
I have not used the card from december 2007 onwards
So far i have not received any receipt for an amount of Rs. 18,000/- out of Rs. 20,120/- which i paid to SBI credit card
Now recently SBI sent two payements slips for Aug and Sept mentioning many charges like late payment fee, Total GST DEBIT for current STMT and other charges : is it justifiable ? is it not amount to cheating?
you peole made thousand calls but no body approached me to slove my greivence : is it a fair bussiness?
due to the phone calls by your people and not receving the receipts for the payments which i made i an mentally disturbed
added to this there is a harrasment of SBI tele callers
Therfore if i have not revceived the receipts for the payments which i made within 3-4 days i will complaint to the Banking ombudsman and also think of filing a harrasment case .
if u r telecallers make a phone without giving receipts i will become mad for which SBI is responsible
finally i donot want any dealing with SBI card people who cheated me and harrased me so : i want fair settlement without any unfair charges therefore u kindly send your executive to me for final settlement
i will never forget the harassment of SBI people
No regards for SBI because of the harassment made by your telecallers

I talked to the Service provider Div of Brclays bankregarding cancellation of Membership fees within the date generating the statement of the given period….
They told they require 72 Hrs after that 72 hrs i tried called continiously but call was in going directly to hold mode…..after 4-5 days i called and asked to cancel but they telling they cant cancell.
They without my accceptance they charging membership fees and i am unbale to pay that much money then there late fees also they are going to put on me.
Pleaqse guide how to avoid that i m mentally disturbed ..if the situatuion will bw same i may fear not to do wrong thing to me…….

I am having a salaried account with the HDFC Bank- Jorbagh branch at Delhi. This is a corporate account and I have been facing few problems like ATM Decline charges (Like Rs. 25 has been deducted from my account due to withdrawal of money from ATM inspite of insufficient funds) ofcourse this is not done intentionally but they say these are the charges which are there. Like this, which was never told to us as per consumer right, I have lost Rs. 75 or so vis-a-vis process.
Then on 11th Dec 08. one more harrasing thing happened wherein I tried to withdraw Rs. 2200 from the Khan Market HDFC Bank ATM and while withdrawing and during processing the money it said “Sorry! The transaction cannot be completed” then to my shock i realized that Rs 2200 has been debited. TO reconfirm the situation i tried to withdraw more Rs. 1000 and then i got the money from the ATM and the statement which I reviewd online through net banking as well I found that in total Rs. 3200 has been debited instead of only Rs. 1000 that i got.
I went to the HDFC bank, whose ATM I withdrew money from to talk their executives and some executive named Mr. Manish talked to me very rudely saying it will be reverted back if at all after 2 months or so. He says its a long process. I tried to explain that when a customer required money then he withdraws it and if the bank is not reponsible at this point of time then who is??? I mean I am literally harrased.
Cheers to the Poor services of such a reputed bank they call HDFC.

i am a financial consultant.
this is with regards to a client of mine who is an - association of persons.
they have a valid PAN no, TAN No., Bihar VAT regd no.
they have a current account without any CC or OD facility with Punjab National Bank.
they wanted to open a new current account with Standard Chartered Bank but they refused to open the account on the ground that they cant open an account for -association of persons. it has to be either a partnership or a company only then can they open an account.
can they refuse to open an account solely on this ground?
