Alpnachstad is the point on Lake Lucerne where one end of the Lake (if there is such a concept as the end of a Lake exists) is there; further, it is also the point where the cogwheel train from Mount Pilatus terminates. At this point, there is a cruise ship which takes tourists on this journey on a continuing basis, with the train section getting over, and the cruise section proceeding. The cruise from here goes to the city of Luzern.
