Cross on the path inside the Bom Jesus Basilica in Goa

The Bom Jesus Basilica is located in Old Goa, and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This is a magnificent structure, and draws a number of tourists every year. The Basilica was opened in the year 1605, and is now very famous since it contains the body of St. Francis Xavier (who is famous in history for having founded the Society of Jesus, along with Ignatius of Loyola).
The compound of the Bom Jesus Basilica is not very large, but is very green, with some large trees. Right in the middle of the path that leads to the building of the Basilica, there is this large cross on a high pedestal. In the background, to the right, you can see the structure of the Basilica.
