This is a photo of one of the smaller squares in the tourist area of Lucerne. There are a number of hotels over here, and plenty of cafes and restaurants which are fully occupied by relaxing tourists. Further, there is also some amount of shopping in this area. The streets in this area are mostly cobble stoned rather than concrete.

The city of Luzern in Switzerland boasts of some wonderful architecture, and this photo is of a small square in the tourist areas, which is normally pretty crowded since there are a number of hotels over there. I was a bit lucky, since I was able to get a photo at a time when there were very few people, only this lady making a phone call.

One of the important cultural attractions of the city of Lucerne is the center called KKL, located on the shore of Lake Lucerne, right next to the Railway Station. In this photo, taken from the near the other side of the Chapel Bridge, you can see both these icons of Lucerne; through the sheer rain falling down (fairly heavy rain).

When you get close to Lake Lucerne, you can see a number of swans (both in beautiful white and in black color). They are somewhat used to the presence of humans, since they do not run away when you reach close to them, but we kept a small distance from them. In this photo, you can see a single such swan in the water of Lake Lucerne.

A small pedestrian bridge on the River Reuss just near to Lake Lucerne. This is a very narrow bridge, with enough space only for people and cyclists (and too, you can’t even have more than 1-2 cyclists crossing the bridge at the same time). The bridge starts near the tourist section of Lucerne with a number of hotels and restaurants in the area.

When we were on the Chapel Bridge, it started raining. This gave us more time on this incredible tourist attraction, and also gave us some great views of the surrounding buildings when there was pouring rain, and with almost no people in the area because of the rain. Overall, the whole scenario looks great.

A view of the buildings on one side of the Reuss River that flows through Lucerne before joining into Lake Lucerne. The view you have is of the buildings in the tourist zone, with a number of hotels, and a number of restaurants and cafes along the riverside. In good weather (most of the time), this is a good place to enjoy a drink and food.

This is a black plaque installed at the edge of the river Reuss right next to the Chapel Bridge that explains the history of the historic Chapel Bridge in Lucerne (Switzerland). The Chapel Bridge is one of the major tourist attractions of Switzerland, originally constructed in 1333. The bridge unfortunately caught fire in 1999, and sections were then rebuild (and being of wood, is more susceptible to fire).

A view of one of the streets of Lucerne (it is currently raining). The streets are deserted because of the rain, but you can see a number of cycles and a couple of vehicles on the side of the street next to the river. In the far background are the buildings that have a huge population of tourists, come to visit the cafes and the restaurants.

The Chapel Bridge straddles the Reuss River in Lucerne, and the water body is not very wide at this point, so crossing the Bridge takes very little time. In this photo, you can see a view of a section of Lucerne as seen from the Chapel Bridge (so you can see a section of the bridge, you can see the flowers on the side of the bridge, and see the area of Lucerne that is thronged by tourists).
