If you want to look at a classical portrait of some historical ruins, I guess this is probably how you would want the photos to appear. The structure slightly overhead, and clouds seeming to fly overhead at some speed. Overall, I really like this photo of the Parthenon on the Acropolis in Athens, taken as we were leaving the place.

I had some previous photos with the sun behind a cloud. In this photo, against the background of a tree covered hill, almost in silhouette, you can see the twinkling of the sun after it emerges from the cloud.

The sun just starting to disappear behind a cloud, over a hill. The sun looks very bright, but it is possible to make out the different rays emerging from the sun in this photo.

This is a photo of a para-glider sailing high above in the blue sky above Interlaken. Just seeing this person, enjoying the sights from that heights, soaring through the air, brings out a strong feeling of envy . I also want to do this.

Tip: When trying to take a photo of a distant object, getting the required clarity can be pretty different. Try using the maximum zoom, but the ideal condition is to use a telephoto lens for getting a sharp and clear image.

As we were roaming around the small town of Interlaken, we came across these colored cloth in the sky, and squinting against the sunlight, we found that these were people para-gliding, jumping off the cliff, in most cases in tandem with an expert who would be guiding them. It looks lovely, and must have been fun. Unfortunately, we did not do it for a variety of reasons, some of which were cowardice from 2 of us (including me).

Tip: When taking a photo such as this one where the focus is on a particular object (para-gliders), be sure to remove all extraneous objects from the frame. They tend to distract, and should not be there if possible. In this day and age of high mega-pixel cameras, getting rid of objects by cropping the photo should not really decrease the quality of the photo significantly.

This must be real fun. While we were normal earth-based tourists in Interlaken, you could see so many people taking off from the nearby cliffs / mountains and then soaring for a long time in the mountains before they came back down to the ground.

Tip: When taking a photo of something like this, like a para-glider or a person para-sailing, you should make sure that the photo does not look empty (this photo fails in that). If necessary, use an appropriate zoom lens, or crop the photo so that the person does not look like a dot in the sky and instead occupies more space.

This is just at the onset of sunset, with some amount of light in the sky, but clearly it is going much darker. The colors of the sky get very good at such a time of the day.

A cross-section of the London Eye wheel against a blue sky. A blue sky, a few clouds, very clear visibility; and sitting in a capsule that is rising more than a hundred meters in the air, what could be better ?

This is a photo that could happen in any regions with mountains, but is still very beautiful. This is actually from the Kangra Valley in Himachal Pradesh; it was very nice to see the clouds between the mountains. Any time you would look that side, you would see a very beautiful sight.
