The journey down from Mount Pilatus on the cogwheel train does not only run through beautiful greenery. The track had to be also built through some tough regions, with tunnels having to be built in some cases. In this photo, you can see how there is a large rock just next to the track; it is also possible that some rocks as big or maybe smaller roll down to the hill on occasions and cause damage to the track. The frame of the cogwheel train is also visible in this photo.

A scene just next to Lake Lucerne in Switzerland, at the town of Alpnachstad. There is a grove of trees right next to the spot where the cruise ship is berthed, with a path leading between them, and the whole scenery looks exceedingly beautiful.

A photo where the lights have been blown out, and as a result, a lot of detail has been lost. Ideally, for such a photo, the RAW photo should have been taken, and the exposure turned down. However, in such photos, it is sometimes possible that detail is no possible to view.

A bird (most probably a tern) flying high over the tree covered hill on the shore of Lake Thun. There are a few clouds in the sky, but not enough to make the overall conditions overcast.

The sun twinkles just after emerging from behind a line of trees. The brilliance of the sun washes out the other colors in the photos. The other structure visible in the photo is a part of the cabin of the cruise ship.

A cliff (hill) right next to Lake Thun in Switzerland. The hill bares some of the rock face, and trees on the hill from top to bottom except for some parts where the rock is visible. There is a road that runs along the side of the hill, and you can see a vehicle on the road.

We were roaming around Interlaken (in Switzerland), and had some time to spare before we needed to reach our next destination. There was this beautiful stream (with water fresh from the mountains), and right next to that was this tree, that seemed perfectly formed. The only objection I could have was there were 2 cars under it, but there was nothing I could do about that.

Tip: When taking a photo of something majestic like a big tree, be sure that you have framed it properly. Whenever possible, make sure that the photo is not coming out with the tree being skewed, unless that is the angle at which the tree has been growing. And try to make sure that you take the photo when the sun is shining on the tree; the leaves can look very dark if they are in shadow.

This is a photo taken from the train, as we approached Interlaken. The trees looked grand and stately, with some amount of undergrowth, although the photo does not reflect that as well as it should.
For a photo like this, one needs to keep the aperture open as wide as possible, a faster shutter speed (you can even increase the ISO to compensate for the increase in shutter speed)
